About Cleary Finlay Solicitors
We have two offices servicing the Central Coast of New South Wales.
Our Ettalong office is in Broken Bay Road near the car-park of the Mantra development and next to the Ettalong Senior Citizens Centre. Car parking and access are easy. It primarily services the Woy Woy Peninsula area and in particular, Ettalong, Umina and Woy Woy.
Our West Gosford office is located upstairs at the West Gosford Shopping Centre servicing the greater Gosford area. Parking is available in the Centre’s carpark. Being located at the bottom of Kariong hill it is a convenient location for many commuting clients, but primarily services the areas of Point Clare, Tascott, Kariong, Narara, Niagara Park and Wyoming.
Gary Cleary and Mark Finlay are the partners of the firm which also includes employed solicitor Naomi Gale and a number of talented and experienced support staff.
Gary Cleary was first admitted as a lawyer in 1983. He holds a Diploma in Law (BAB). His initial employment was in the local courts system and later he undertook litigation, legislative drafting, court appearances and general advising work for State Government Departments before moving to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in 1985 where he was involved exclusively in criminal prosecutions. In 1987 he commenced practice at Ettalong Beach. In 1990 the firm opened a branch office at West Gosford and operated as Gary Cleary & Associates until Gary formed a partnership in 2010 with Mark Finlay, who had been his associate solicitor since 2004.
Mark Finlay was admitted to practice in 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Economics, and a Diploma in Legal Practice, all from the University of Newcastle. He practised primarily in defendant personal injury litigation before moving to general practice in 2002. He moved to the Central Coast to join Gary in 2004 and was Gary’s associate at Gary Cleary & Associates until forming a partnership with Gary in 2010.
Naomi Gale was admitted to practice in 2002. She holds a Bachelor of Law, University of Technology, Sydney awarded on 24 September 2001 and a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice, University of Technology, Sydney awarded on 28 March 2002. Naomi spent several years working in the Property and Infrastructure and Workplace Relations Departments of a large Sydney firm before moving to general practice on the Central Coast in 2003.
